What is the Community Outreach Program?
There is a
substantial segment of our population in New Hampshire / Upper
Valley Area who are unable to utilize the available substance abuse
counseling services because of imposed conditions which limit their
accessibility. These conditions may be economic, physical / mental,
access to transportation, or the individual may be incarcerated.
This program is designed to meet these individual’s needs by having
a substance abuse counselor go to them at their location and provide
them with the needed services. The objective for this program
is to reduce the effects that social/economical barriers have on an
individuals ability to seek services, bring counseling services into
our jail systems, homeless shelters, schools, senior centers and the
homes of our prospective clients. The anticipated effects of this
objective will reduce recidivism in our jail systems; bring
individuals back to a productive way of life and reducing
homelessness; helping individuals and their families to open the
lines of communication, help make them whole by creating
understanding and reducing the level of shame and embarrassment that
they are currently facing; strengthening the family unit; helping
adolescents make more knowledgeable decisions and healthy choices,
and help them reduce the effects of peer-pressure on their lives.
If you know of someone who could benefit from this program please
don't hesitate, call Headrest at: (603) 448-4400. Help make a
difference in someone's life! |
